USA Friends/Customers: Please Read About Upcoming Changes
To our American neighbours, friends and customers:
Changes are coming! The last day we will be accepting orders from American customers on this website is August 26th at 6:00 PM EST. After that time, we will switch off shipping to the U.S.A. until de minimis is reinstated, or something else changes for the positive.
I know you've seen similar posts like this from many yarn shops in recent days. Our message is similar, but - there is hope!
Over the past few years, we have been working on our American presence. While we won't be able to ship anything from this website (our .CA) to you, we DO have our American website up and running and you will be able to continue ordering over there.
When shopping with us going forward, always make sure you are using the .COM of our website, that is:
I also highly recommend, if you are American, that you unsubscribe from our Canadian newsletter (just click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the next newsletter you receive from us), and instead subscribe to our American one.
(To our Canadian customers - I know some of you are reading this ;) : anything on the .com site is only available to ship within the USA. Please continue shopping with us here, on the .ca website.)
Why is this happening?
With the de minimis rule being completely removed as of August 29th, we will no longer be able to ship anything across the border. There are a number of reasons for this, which, in the interests of brevity I will skip - but suffice it to say, we have explored all possible alternative avenues, and there is simply no way we can shoulder this burden at this time.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to continue serving you, over at Artisanthropy.com.

Hi Leah, I’m aware of what the supreme court ruled, however, unfortunately with the immediate imposition of 15% tariffs on everything instead, and the continuing confusion over how to declare percentages of metals in products, there’s just no way we can ship to the USA. Once the USA implements a normal system of tariffing, where they bill recipients directly for the items they’ve ordered based on the package HS codes, we will be able to resume shipping. However, at this time they are still expecting us to cover those fees, and there’s just simply no way to do that easily, across the board, in a way that makes sense. I haven’t figured it out. Looking forward to a full and complete resolution soon! Best wishes in your Trump impeachment endeavours!
I had to Google “de minimis” to understand what this was. Today (2/20/26) our US Supreme Court ruled that most of Trump’s damn tariffs are illegal. Am I correct that that will not change your policy on shipping to the USA? I looked at your USA web site and did not see the #3 pearl cotton. My apologies for what my government it doing. I am actively working on getting Trump reined-in or better yet impeached.
