Tat a dove on International Day of Peace

Tat a dove on International Day of Peace

The dove has long been a symbol of peace in many cultures. Today is International Day of Peace, first observed in 1982, as a day to encourage and remember the ideals of the absence of war and violence. And while we encourage peace, and the non-violent resolution of conflicts every single day of the year, today is notable because many military groups will cease fire for the day to allow for humanitarian aid to enter current war zones.

In celebration of hope, and a better future for tomorrow, why not meditate upon the ideals of peace while tatting a dove? Jane Eborall has some really great animal tatting paterns, all available for free. One of the tatting patterns is for a dove - check out her other animal tatting patterns, and download the dove tatting pattern here.

Peace and blessings to you and your loved ones on this World Day of Peace.
