Class: Traditional Socks

Join us in the Studio at Artisanthropy as we knit a traditional heel, top-down sock.

This class is 5x 2-hour classes - weekly for the session offered Nov 5th-Dec 7th, and bi-weekly for the session offered starting in January 2024.

Prerequisites
You must be proficient in the following skills to take this class:
  • Casting on
  • Knitting
  • Purling
  • Casting off
Materials
  • 3.5 mm dpns or 3.5 mm Circular needle, length of your choice... typically 9"
    • If choosing to use magic loop (please ensure you are familiar with this technique in advance, the link takes you to our workshop on this method), select 3.5mm with a minimum 32" length
  • 1 skein Estelle DK in the colour of your choice
  • Notebook
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors
  • Small cable needle

5 weeks will seem a generous time. Past classes have shown time and time again, it takes 5 sessions, and attending every other week allows one to knit the second sock at the same time.

Hosted by Vickie E. Vickie is very knowledgeable, with 50+ years of experience knitting, crocheting, embroidering, sewing and punch needling.  She is passionate about the fibre arts. Vickie is always learning, and she loves to share her skills with those who wish to learn. 

Minimum 3 students required for class to run. Maximum 6 students.
